Roger Federer “All Time Greatest”: Roger Federer (born 8 August 1981) is currently ranked world No. 2 in men’s singles tennis by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) as of 2018, is a Swiss professional tennis player. He debuted in 1988 on the ATP Tour as a Wildcard entry in Gstaad. His idols are Stefan Edberg, Bris Becker and Peter Sampras. He can speak four languages English, German, Swiss German and French. He gets married to former Women’s Tennis Association player Miroslava Vavrincová, in 2009 and has four children.

Federer has a record of most Grand Slam men’s singles titles with 20 and has been in finals 30 times. He also has a record 33 ATP World Tour Awards including five times ATP No. 1 from 2004-2007, 2009 and won twice the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian in 2006 and 2013.In 2004-22-9 and 2011-2016, he won 12 times the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award and voted as Fan Favorite for a record 14 consecutive years from 2003 to 2016 from ATPWorldTour.com. He first reached No. 1 after winning the Australian Open in 2004 defeating Marat Safin in the Finals and makes a record at No. 1 for 302 weeks which was incredible.


He is so active that the age of 36, he became the older world no. 1. From 2002-2015, he has the 2nd longest record with 14 straight seasons on the Top 10 of the ATP and Jimmy Connors who holds the No. 1 spot in the Top 10 with 16 straight seasons.

Federer has clinch 97 career singles titles, 2nd most behind jimmy Connors ( 109 titles) in the Open Era which makes him one the greatest tennis player in the history. He won 8 Wimbledon titles which makes him most Wimbledon Winner, five times US Open titles tied with jimmy Connors and Pete Sampras. In 2008, Beijing Olympic Games, he won a Doubles Olympic Gold Medal with Stanislas Wawrinka and a singles Olympic Silver Medal at London games in 2012.

Federer has become a Swiss of the Year in 2003, six times Swiss Athlete of the Year, 2003-2004, 2006-2007, 2012, 2014 and also won the US Open Sportsmanship Award in 2014. In 2004-2007 and 2009, he won five times ITF Player of the Year and also ranked No. 2 on the World’s most respected , admired and trusted personalities just behind Nelson Mandela but ahead of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey and Bono on the Reputation Institute’s 2011. In 2011, he became 25th most powerful celebrity who was ranked by Forbes and the highest earning tennis player off court for straight nine years between 2007-2015.
